ABDUL SATTAR EDHI: BEST IDEAL & CHAMPION OF HUMANITY, TRULY DESERVES NOBEL PRIZE

ABDUL SATTAR EDHI: BEST IDEAL
    & CHAMPION OF HUMANITY,
 TRULY DESERVES NOBEL PRIZE
BY JAVED ZAHEER, FREE EXPRESSION AWARD WINNER
TORONTO: Few greats are born in this world who devote their whole lives and everything for others. The proud son of Pakistan Abdul Sattar Edhi is one of them. Undoubtedly, he is one of the best true ideals and champion of humanity to follow for all those who are interested and engaged in serving humanity in reality. For serving humanity, he could go to any extent including begging publicly. I saw him do this and felt proud that this great man and angel on earth was my friend. He never felt ashamed while begging for deserving people.
For others he may be many things including philanthropist but for me he was a good and trusted friend since 1980. We used to meet almost every week, sit for hours, chat and discuss issues and their solution. We used to eat together. I used to regularly write about his humanity work and tremendous contributions.
I was actually his fan since the end of 60s. I was very much impressed and inspired by him. We had many similarities including nature to serve humanity and help and support deserving people, particularly the needy, helpless and innocent ones. I learnt a lot from him. This is why I visited him frequently.
Since 1974, I have been serving humanity. In 2015, I founded the platform Serve Humanity In Reality International Network (SHIRIN).  Through this platform I am serving my community and all other communities. I am providing strength and strong voice they needed to get attention of all specially the rulers and all other leaders.
Whenever someone close to me needed monetary help, I used to approach Sattar Edhi and he never refused and disappointed me or my friends. He was always there to help and my friends too returned the money they got from Edhi. This is why he trusted me and my friends. About Edhi, briefly and I can only describe him as a very good human being with great qualities. He faces toughest challenges courageously and lived for others.
Once I borrowed rupees 75,000 for my personal use. When leaving Pakistan and migrating to Canada, I met him to return the money. He looked at me with  great surprise and said: “What surprises me is that being a journalist you are returning the money back otherwise others never bother to return. This is why I like and respect you very much.”
Once a rich man came to him and tried to give the papers of his property worth millions of dollars. Edhi refused to take and even talk to him. Later he told me: “I am not interested in money or property made through corruption. I try not to get involved in any such deals.” Such was his very good nature and sound character. Throughout his life he remained extremely simple. Because of his simple dress, beard and slippers, he was detained and interrogated for many hours by the United States and Canadian agencies and authorities at the airports.
Now under the leadership of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the Liberal Party, Canada must recognize the meritorious services of this legendary figure of international repute.
This is due because almost all members of the Pakistani community in Canada and America like and love him very much. Whenever he comes to Canada and the US he will be given a grand welcome. This is for sure. He is in no way less than late Mother Teresa and other such distinguished personalities.
Although he is not at all interested in any big or small awards and rewards and likes and loves his humanity work but we understand and know fully that he truly deserves the Nobel Prize for his service to humanity. It would be much better if Nobel Prize is given to him in his lifetime instead of posthumously. It will not be a favour because he rightly deserves it and the recognition of his character and contributions. The world will cheat him if denied the Nobel Prize. In fact Edhi is much above and higher than the Nobel Prize. God has blessed and chosen him for this great cause. The world must than God for giving us Abdul Sattar Edhi. His tremendous contributions are a great source of inspiration and motivation.
He will always remain in the hearts and minds of millions worldwide. He is a symbol to be saluted and does not need recognition and promotion. He has earned a name that is extremely precious and priceless. Only the world needs to know, understand and truly honour him so that millions could benefit from his work and contributions. Such gems are rarely born and found. Their place is on the crown of humanity.
Unlike the cunning, cruel and cold-blooded human beasts including our corrupt, characterless and shameless rulers, leaders and officials who find pretexts to rush abroad on government expenses running in millions for rest, recreation and relaxation in the expensive hospitals including even for slight sneeze treatment, this devoted, dedicated, determined, committed and brave man and proud son of Pakistan, true leader and great human being, who is now seriously ill with kidney failure and other medical issues and struggling for life, prefers to live and die in his country Pakistan. He is so patriotic that he prefers to get treated by local specialists including the world renowned kidney specialist Dr Adeebul Hasan Rizvi. They are doing their best to save his life.  Let’s all pray for Abdul Sattar Edhi. His passing away would be a great loss for the country and humanity. Instead of regretting later let’s act now. JZ'S ARTICLE: RAMAZAN MISUNDERSTOOD, NOT ONLY FOR FOOD & FASTING

www.javedzaheernews.blogspot.ca for my exclusive articles
JAVED ZAHEER---FOUNDER OF SHIR INTERNATIONAL NETWORK:
A MISSION WITH A VISION TO SERVE HUMANITY IN REALITY
RAMAZAN MISUNDERSTOOD, NOT
     ONLY FOR FOOD & FASTING
BY JAVED ZAHEER, FREE EXPRESSION AWARD WINNER
TORONTO:  Is the holy month of Ramazan confined to only fasting from sunrise to sunset, mostly oily foods and expensive feasts (Iftar parties), recitation of holy Quran, special prayers (Taraveeh), avoidance of all bad and sins and to commemorate the first revelation of the Quran to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)?
In reality, the importance of Ramazan is hundreds and thousands times much more than generally thought, considered and imagined. People must know and understand that importance of reality in order to prepare properly and benefit fully.
The important reality I am talking about is directly related to the divine messages in the holy Quran, which is very easy to know and understand. It is so simple that even an illiterate person could understand it easily. What I have understood I would like to share with all others.
The important reality is---Do righteous deeds and exhort each other to follow truth and exhort each other to observe patience (See Chapter 103 Al-Asr---The Declining Day, Eventide, The Epoch). This chapter tells us about the extremely finest qualities to build a really good character and become a really good human being and a really good believer of The God.
The month of Ramazan is actually a refresher course to remind, train and teach us to make these finest qualities the part of our lives. People with such fine qualities will make the family, community, society, system and country the best.
The righteous deeds keeps us on the right path and the patience teaches us to control and discipline ourselves in all respect and in all situations, conditions and circumstances including provocation, anger, revenge, excitement, anxiety, poverty, greed, temptations, corruption and all bad deeds and sins.
The persons with righteous deeds and patience become spiritually very strong, truly faithful and true believers and are the ones who enjoy the best blessings and favours of The God (See Chapter one Al-Fatiha---The Opening). These are the persons who truly become the best human beings. So these finest qualities serve both purposes---humanity and spiritual. This is why they have been specially mentioned by God and considered the most important part of our lives. It is definitely extremely difficult and hard to have these qualities and to maintain them. This is the most difficult test for the human being to become good and a favourite of The God.
Whatever we do and learn in Ramazan, based on righteous deeds and patience, should become a part of our lives for the rest of the year. Then only we can achieve the good results and the real aims & objectives.
Unfortunately, most of the people do not understand the real divine message of Ramazan and consider it as a month of food and fasting only. This way we are wasting our time and energy and being deprived of the benefits and blessings promised by The God. This is why Muslims are off track, moving in the wrong direction and lost and suffering. It is a matter of understanding and implementation and most of us are lacking both.
So take Ramazan seriously to build a good character and to become a real good human being and a true believer. This should be our aim and objective. This is important for the health as well otherwise consumption of oily food and over eating during Sehri and Iftar times would make people fat and sick.

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW OF JAVED ZAHEER BY THE HUMANITARIAN NEWSPAPER

Exclusive interview of Javed Zaheer by Ayesha Arshad of       Humanitarion Newspaper and Ummid International organization

     SUCCESS STORIES OF IMMIGRANTS:
JAVED ZAHEER, VETERAN JOURNALIST
        & HUMAN RIGHTS ACTIVIST
Following is an exclusive interview of Javed Zaheer, Veteran Professional Journalist and Founder of SHIRIN (Serve Humanity In Reality International Network) conducted by Ayesha Arshad of The Ummid International organization and The Humanitarian magazine published from Mississauga, Ontario, Canada:
AYESHA ARSHAD: When did you arrive in Canada and what was your educational back ground?
JAVED ZAHEER:  I migrated along with my family---wife and four kids---on April 13, 1999. I did Masters in International Relations from the University of Karachi in the 1980s.
AA: What was in your mind when you decided to migrate to Canada?
JZ: I liked and loved my country Pakistan very much but because of the worsening law and order situation, serious threat to lives and property and increasing corruption, I could not put the lives and future of my family in danger. So the decision was in the best interest of my family, particularly children.
AA: What was your inspiration that you moved from international relations to Journalism?
JZ: I was in the journalism profession since 1974 and did my master in international relations in the 1980s. Reading, writing and journalism were in my blood as I belonged to a literary family. Because of my keen interest in world affairs, humanity, reading, writing and research works, the subject of international relations suited me the most as it touches all my topics of interest.
AA: Please highlight your struggle of becoming journalist?
JZ: Since I was madly in love with reading and writing and committed to serve humanity in reality so I enjoyed every bit of the efforts and struggle in becoming a journalist including serious threats and dangers to my life. Every challenge made me stronger and increased my determination to move ahead and achieve my goals.
My father, who was a diplomat wanted me to become a doctor or lawyer and I was not interest in both. After the passing away of my father, I fulfilled his wish by becoming a medical journalist and helped some of my close friends win challenging legal issues. These were tremendous achievements for me.
AA: Did your health effect during your struggle?
JZ: Yes, a lot. I paid a heavy price but nothing stopped me. I became diabetic, heart, blood pressure, thyroid and kidney patient. My hearing and vision were badly affected. In 2003, quadruple bypass surgery was done which failed. In the end of March, 2015, I suffered two heart attacks which damaged my heart. Even angiogram could not be done and I was put on thrice a week dialysis. All these setbacks could not stop me from professional duties and from working for my cause, mission and vision---Serve Humanity In Reality---for which recently I founded SHIRIN (Serve Humanity In Reality International Network).
AA: Did your family support you in this struggle and what is the impact on your family?
JZ: My family did not like my craze for writing but never interfered in my work. The serious effects on my health and the looming dangers kept disturbed them a lot.
AA: Did you get any help from government agencies or NGOs in those days?
JZ: As a journalist, I did not get any help from the government or any NGOs. I am on disability (ODSP) since 2003 to-date.
AA: Are you satisfied with your successful journey?
JZ: Satisfaction is a very small word to describe my love and craze for reading, writing, professional and humanity works. Although I keep suffering a lot, still I enjoyed and am fully enjoying every moment and second of my journalism career and the struggle to serve humanity in reality. This is keeping me alive, healthy and hearty. I derive great satisfaction and happiness by helping others---humanity.
AA: How you look younger generations in their career struggle?
JZ: The younger generation is more materialistic than realistic. They lack many emotions and feelings, have become selfish and live and work like a robot for their vested interests only. This attitude must change. Instead of becoming human robots they must become good and normal human being, which is very important to make them understand, like and serve humanity in reality.
AA: Have you ever thought of going back to your homeland?
JZ: Like I said I like and love Pakistan and would always like to be there but now Canada is my permanent home although both Pakistan and Canada are my mothers.
AA: You have any plans to join politics?
JZ: No not at all. Although politics play an important role in our lives and we cannot remain aloof because of the system and democracy I take only limited interest in politics. I never liked, supported or promoted dirty politics and bad leadership at all levels.
AA: What is your message for the community?
JZ: Understand the divine messages of The Almighty and keep serving humanity in reality. The most important thing is to like, love and respect all good human beings and always try to live and work together with good intentions and full honesty. My professional career story is full of hardships, struggles and successes.
