JZ'S ARTICLE: RESPECT & RECOGNIZE THOSE MAKING CANADA PROUD AND WORLD LEADER

RESPECT & RECOGNIZE THOSE MAKING
CANADA PROUD AND WORLD LEADER
BY JAVED ZAHEER, FREE EXPRESSION AWARD WINNER
TORONTO: Time has come for Canada to change its old, bad and wrong policies in the larger and best interest of the country and the people.
World renowned, respected and recognized professionals and personalities with extremely valuable and rich experience have made Canada their homeland and the world leader in their respective fields.
They are doing this in their own capacities, limitation and freedom Canada gives to all Canadians.
They can do far much better if the Canadian government, policy makers and leaders realize and recognize their importance and the essential need for Canada and make changes accordingly in the policies to allow them best space, funds, positions and boost.
Presently, they are ignored and degraded to the level of odd jobs and labour force. For survival they do everything like security jobs, driving cabs and labour jobs in the factories and shops.
The dignity of labour gives respect to all but this does not suit these best professionals and gems of their professions and Canada. It is an insult of both Canada and the people.
Some of the present policies for them are reflection of the Colonial rule and must immediately be rejected and replaced by the good Canadian policies, policymakers and leaders like Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. This is the moral duty and responsibility of the Canadian rulers, good leaders and policymakers.
Because of the wrong policies and differences as a result some important leaders have resigned and quit politics. This is a tremendous loss for Canada but those making such policies remain adamant and stick to what they are doing which is extremely harmful for Canada.
In the parliament, we need good leaders loyal to Canada and the people and not poodles and puppets loyal to powers playing with Canada.  The Conservative Party under the leadership of Stephen Harper caused more damage than good to Canada. This is why people rejected both the party and the leaders because they now know their reality.
WORLD LITERARY CENTRE: Like I said before those coming to Canada, particularly genius and gems, have through their hard work, struggle and contributions have made Canada, people and their community proud.
They rightly and proudly consider and call themselves Canadians because they are Canadians but discrimination because of the wrong policies and bad policymakers is hurting them badly and making them feel like second and third class citizens and Canadians. This is putting a bad patch on the beauty of Canada and sending a wrong message to the world.
The intellectuals coming to and settling in Canada are playing an important role. Through their tremendous contributions and their growing numbers and strength have made Toronto and Canada the world literary centre. The number from Pakistan is great followed by India and others.
SENIORS CLUB: The Thorncliffe Seniors Club in Toronto keeps inviting, introducing and promoting such important personalities.
Distinguished personalities and community members attend in large numbers and make the events successful.  Ahmed Hussein, Executive Director of the Thorncliffe Neighbourhood Office (TNO) keeps supporting the club to serve the seniors of the locality and those coming from other and far off places. The TSC team including Syed Shakeel Ahmed, President, Naseem Ahmed, Vice President, Azhar Bokhari, General Secretary, Afzal Khan Nayyar, Abdul Razzak Chishti, Joint Secretary, Coordinator, Javed Zaheer, Founder and Honorary Secretary, keep working hard to promote the club and the cause: Serve seniors in reality. So far it is performing successfully and attracting leading and distinguished personalities of all fields including literature, music, poetry, etc. The purpose is not only to introduce and promote the personalities but their important messages as well.
On November 5, 2017, the TSC invited as chief guest Mirza Yasin Baig, journalist, writer and author. The event was held at 1 Leaside Park Drive,Toronto.
Mirza Yasin Baig a renowned and distinguished personality, as chief guest, chaired the second session of the program. He thanked the TSC organizers for inviting him and to speak about his two books in Urdu language: “Desi Life In Canada” and “Parchay”.
Mirza Yasin Baig spoke about the books and read many humorous items. The fully enjoyed his presentation. The books were sold ($15) like hot cakes. He signed all the books.
Both books are based on class humour. Desi Life In Canada (300) pages/96 chapters). Parchay (230 pages/85 chapters). The content and quality could be judged when the books were sold like hot cakes.
I knew Mirza Yasin Baig since 1999 but met him first in this event. His columns are quite popular. In this world full of stress, such good humour acts good for the mind and soul.
Another distinguished personality Shahid Hashmi, Chairman, Canpak Chamber of Commerce, chaired the first session of the program.
In his message, Shahid Hashmi congratulated the organizers for organizing a successful event. He was happy and impressed that TSC was doing a great work and attracting distinguished and leading personalities and community members.
He said that young members must also be included in the TSC team and given chance to promote the TSC and serve seniors and the community.
Shahid Hashmi said that we must promote literature in reality and properly and promote and not sell Urdu,
He assured the TSC members of his full support in promoting the TSC and serving seniors in reality.
Shahid Hashmi and his spouse Seema Hashmi impressed the TSC members and the audience and won their hearts when they not only stayed till the last moment but both helped the organizers in picking up the chairs and tables and cleaning the hall. The couple and the family is best known for their hospitality,  generosity and goodness. Shahid said people must not feel ashamed in helping the organizers when help is needed. He said that the VIP culture must end because it is harming the community. This is Canada and all are equal. We must learn to live and work together.
The TSC team including Shakeel Ahmed, Azhar Bokhari, Naseem Ahmed and Javed Zaheer thanked the two important distinguished guests and the audience which included Ayesha Arshad, Founder of Ummid International, and Ayesha Alam and Mahboob Alam of 50 Plus Club and other clubs for attending and making the event successful.
Syed Muhammad Iqbal, President of Pak Seniors Club, in his message, congratulated the TSC team for the successful program. He hoped that the TSC would keep performing in much better ways.
MY COMMENT: Read and enjoy the humour and also judge the quality of the books, content and the author. For every book we need a competent critic, who put a seal of quality on the books. There are so many writers and authors but competent critics are rare. Let’s find and promote the critics as well.
