          WITH UNIQUE MAGICAL VOICE
BY JAVED ZAHEER, FREE EXPRESSION AWARD WINNER
TORONTO: With Canada’s scorching summer in full bloom, social, musical, cultural and get together activities have begun full-fledged.
One such selected musical evening was held at the residence of Muhammad Hameeduddin Ahmed, a renowned media and social personality, in Pickering on Saturday, May 28, 2016.
The selected audience numbered over fifty guests, mostly families, fully enjoyed the mesmerizing performance of Muhammad Salahuddin, who has his own unique style of beautifully rendering Ghazals of great Ghazal singers including Jagjit Singh and Ghulam Ali, and specializes in Ghazals of late Ghazal Maestro Mehdi Hassan.
The simply sensational performance was both live and on track. Both the young ones and seniors fully enjoyed it. He was joined by Tappu, who played harmonium, Dev Chakraborty, who played Tabla, and Jaffar Sikandar, who played Kangu, African instrument.
Syed Shakeel Ahmed, who is President of Thorncliffe Park Seniors Club (TSC), recited a Naat and sang two songs. The host, Hameeduddin, too sang his favourite song `O Meri Zohra Jabeen’. Tappu and Dev too sang songs.
Before start of the program, the guests were served delicious dinner including Nihari, Biryani, Haleem, Samosas, spring rolls, Gulab Jamun and many other items.
Muhammad Salahuddin, who now needs no introduction and is in great demand in family and community events/programs as he has already recognized himself with his beautiful voice as an emerging great Canadian Ghazal and Geet singer and his unique voice has the potential to place him in the list of Ghazal Greats.
The program lasted for over five hours. The guests included Syed Muhammad Iqbal, President of Pak Seniors Forum (PSF), Jabbar, Pasha, Hashim, Qasim, Waqas Bhatti, Syed Naeem, Syed Shakeel Ahmed,, Jaffer Sikandar and Muhammad Shoaib. Aslam Shahab, a renowned journalist and a popular figure of Dubai, was also present. He not only praised Muhammad Salahuddin but assured him and Dev Chakraborty and Tappu as well that he will organize a big event in Milton, Ontario, Canada, where they will perform.
The event was organized to celebrate Hameeduddin and Jabbar’s granddaughter Shareen Muhammad’s birthday. The hosts were both Jabbar and Hameeduddin. The organizers were Junaid, Sajid and Khalid, sons of Hameeduddin Ahmed.
Such community events are a beauty of Canada as they not only provide the emotional homely touch but help keep the members united, excited, healthy and hearty. Here one finds people liking, loving and respecting each other.
