 CASSA HOLD S ANNUAL AGM & DINNER 2017

     TORONTO: The annual general meeting AGM) and annual dinner 2017 of Council of Agencies Serving South Asians (CASSA) was held on Friday, July 21, 2017, at Scarborough Civic Centre, 150 Borough Drive, Scarborough.
The hall was full with members of member of member agencies and their guests. Syed Muhammad Iqbal, President of Pak Seniors Forum (PSF), whose organization is a member since long was also present. PSF is an active member of Cassa.
The proceedings started with welcome address, approval of draft agenda, approval of last AGM minutes, president’s and executive director’s report, approval of auditor’s report and appointment of auditor, nomination report and election of new board members and adjournment of business. In the end was dinner and networking. From 5:30 to 6 to Registration took place and refreshment was served.  From 6 to 6:30 proceeding too place. From 6.30 to 6:45 proposal to redesign membership structure and from 6:45 to 7:30 panel discussion on celebrating South Asian leadership in Canada 150. From 7:30 to 8 dinner was served and networking took place.
Announced on the occasion were potential changes to CASSA’S membership structure and proposal to CASSA member agencies and individuals.
There was no music and dance. It was a very productive and informative meeting. All South Asian agencies and leaders in Pakistanis must come forward and contribute tremendously. There is always room on the top all we need to do is to struggle
The distinguished guests on the stage were: Zaib Shaikh, Film Commissioner and Director of Entertainment Industries, City of Toronto. Samina Talat, Senior Director of Community Health Wellness, Canada, Red Cross. Sudarshan Gautam, first double amputee to climb Mount Everest (Motivational speaker.
        It was nice to see the South Asians taking active part including recognized leaders with tremendous contribution and achievements of the Pakistani community.
