TORONTO: “Humans never kill humans. Terrorist attacks anywhere and by anyone are
not acceptable regardless of race, religions and countries. The terrorist
attacks in Paris were one of the biggest massacres that happened in France in
which citizens of 15 countries were killed,” stated Dr Shahid Hashmi, Chairman, Canpak, Chamber
of Commerce, a Pakistani community
leader in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada, in a Press statement.
Dignitaries
and renowned personalities including Asghar Ali Golo, Consul General of
Pakistan in Toronto, Canada, Rick Milne, Mayor of New Tecumseh, Salma Zahid,
MP, Mazhar Shafiq, Karamatullah Ghauri, ex-ambassador, Dr Taghi Abedi, medical
specialist, poet and research scholar, Nazimuddin Nazim, ex-Pakistan TV
producer, Syed Hashim Reza Taqvi, Tahira Hashim, Hameeduddin Ahmed, editor
& publisher of Urdu newspaper `AWAZ’, Muhammad Salahuddin popularly known as Mehdi
Salahuddin, Ghazal/Geet singer and now gaining popularity and reputation of
Mehdi Hassan of Canada , Jibran Hashmi, a versatile singer, Hashim Hyder,
Masoodul Haq, Yasin, Arshad Bhatti, Badar Munir, Latafat Siddiqui, editor
Canadian Asian News, and many other
leading members of the community visited the residence of Shahid Hashmi and
Seema Hashmi. They all condemned the Paris attacks and prayed for those killed
and injured.
Shahid
Hashmi full of praise for the good Canadians including Rick Milne, Mayor of New
Tecumseh, for strongly condemning the harassment and beating of Muslim women
and for offering and assuring Muslims to rebuild the mosque burnt by some
miscreants and haters.
One
of the gatherings at Shahid Hashmi residence was a dinner hosted on November
21, 2015, to greet and celebrate the wedding of Latafat Ali Siddiqui’s
daughter.
The
lovers of late Mehdi Hassan and music fully enjoyed the very good performances
of Mehdi Salahuddin and Jibran Hashmi, also a versatile singer. The musical
presentation and party continued till late night. Such gatherings at Shahid
Hashmi residence are a common routine with the purpose of bringing and keeping
people and families together and helping build bridges between communities.
As

In Reality), I respect the emotions and good feelings of Shahid Hashmi when he
says `Humans never kill humans’. Unfortunately it is the humans who are the
worst enemies of human beings. Some become good human beings and some worst
human beasts. They keep fighting and killing each other. One to defend and the
other to kill and enjoy the death and destruction, In wars and for vested
interests, millions of innocent people and soldiers are mercilessly killed and
maimed. Good or bad, they are all human beings. Unfortunately, it will keep
happening till the Day of Judgement as God (Allah) has allowed Satan to do what
he wants. That’s why there are turmoil, wars, disputes, arguments, killings and
destructions. God has warned us about Satan and said in Chapter (Surah) # 7 Al-Araf
(Verses 19-25):
“O
Adam! Dwell thou and thy wife in the Garden, and enjoy (its good things) as ye
wish: but approach not this tree, or ye run into harm and transgression."
(19) Then began Satan to whisper suggestions to them, in order to reveal to
them their shame that was hidden from them (before): he said "Your Lord
only forbade you this tree lest ye should become angels or such beings as live
forever." (20) And he swore to them both, that he was their sincere
adviser. (21) So by deceit he brought about their fall: when they tasted of the
tree, their shame became manifest to them, and they began to sew together the
leaves of the Garden over their bodies. And their Lord called unto them:
"Did I not forbid you that tree and tell you that Satan was an avowed
enemy unto you?" (22) They said: "our Lord! we have wronged our own
souls: if Thou forgive us not and bestow not upon us Thy Mercy we shall
certainly be lost." (23) (Allah) said: "Get ye down, with enmity
between yourselves. On earth will be your dwelling-place and your means of
livelihood― for a time." (24) He said: "therein shall ye live and
therein shall ye die; but from it shall ye be taken out (at last)." (25).
Fortunately,
God (Allah) has taught us to realise, repent, reform and seek forgiveness so
that He could protect us and support us to defend ourselves from harms and the
sworn enemies. The tips, answers and solutions are all available in the original
holy books including Bible, Quran and Torah. But we are so cruel, so selfish
and so careless that we don’t bother to study, understand implement them.
As
for Asghar Ali Golo, the highly respected Consul General of Pakistan in
Toronto, I have heard him speak on several occasions and would like to request
him to give priority and more focus on the Pakistani community in his speeches
instead of giving maximum time to the past including Mohenjo-Daro, Taxila and
Harappa and so on.
The
present condition, situation and requirement are more important than the past
memories. Our community always needs attention, help, support and promotion.
Instead of becoming a rubber stamp and just keep on stamping the passports,
visas and documents, we need to bring and keep community members closer and
together. In my opinion, this is one of the most important roles of the missions,
consulates, embassies and high commissions. I have noticed that most of the
staffers and officers considering themselves as `Super Class Human Beings’ and
the public their servants. This attitude must change. We can earn respect and
good results only with good attitude and contributions.
Society comprises of good and bad
human beings. We need a society where good humans beings dominate and keep a
check on the bad ones. Only such society can help build a good system and a
country. For a good society, Bollywood Superstar Aamir Khan has presented a
very good formula for the parents and children both. It is worth listening and
promoting.
SHIR
International Network will continue to practically support and promote the
mission and vision: Serve Humanity In Reality (SHIR). Only through awareness, understanding
and support of the people, the spiritually-powered mission & vision SHIR International
Network could become a really powerful platform and voice of the people and humanity.
Stop
pointing fingers at each other. Stop blaming, harassing, insulting and harming each
other. This will only cause harm and weaken us. We must learn to live and work
together in reality. We must help and support each other. Most of our people
are good but committing some mistakes which are proving very harmful.
